What to bring

Everyday comfortable clothes are fine to travel in Galapagos. You may however need evening dresses, if you are going on a cruise.

In any case, good shoes (sneakers) are indispensable: most tracks on the different islands are made of volcanic lava. It might also be useful to have a jacket or a windbreaker as evenings and nights can be cool and windy, especially during the cool season.

The sun under these latitudes is very strong. Make sure you take your sunscreen (factor 30 or more) with you, sunglasses and hat/cap. And of course, don't forget your camera and a lot of films!

Be aware that only basic medicines are available on the islands. Therefore, you’d better bring with you any specific medicine or medical treatment you may need.

Note that there is a 20 kilos luggage limit for passengers to carry on the plane to and from Galapagos.
