Entrance fee

All visitors coming to the Galapagos islands are required to pay an entrance fee to the Galapagos National Park and to the Galapagos Marine Reserve. Its price is fixed by the Special law for the conservation and the sustainable development of the Galapagos province (Ley de Regimen Especial para la Conservacion y Desarrollo Sustentable de la Provincia de Galapagos). Be aware that only cash is accepted.

Non residents:

  • Foreign visitors over 12 years old 100 USD
  • Foreign visitors under 12 years old 50 USD
  • Nationals, over 12 years old, of one of the countries of the Andean Community of Nations or the Mercosur 50 USD
  • Nationals, under 12, of one of the countries of the Andean Community of Nations or the Mercosur 25 USD
  • Foreign students (officially registered in one of the national education institutions) 25 USD

Residents:

  • Nationals or foreign residents over 12 years old 6 USD
  • Nationals or foreign residents under 12 years old 3 USD

This money goes to the different governmental institutions dedicated to the conservation of the Galapagos islands:

  • Galapagos National Park 40%
  • Municipalities of Galapagos 25%
  • Provincial Council of Galapagos 10%
  • Galapagos Marine Reserve 5%
  • Ministry of Environment 10%
  • Galapagos National Institute INGALA 5%
  • Inspection and quarantine system of galapagos 5%
