The Galapagos Chamber of Tourism (Camara Provincial de Turismo de Galapagos – Capturgal) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1996 (Ministerial agreement No. 0013).
Its head quarters are located in Puerto Ayora, on the island of Santa Cruz - and a branch in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (San Cristobal) -, Capturgal is dedicated to assist its 66 members, to whom it provides services such as legal advice, technical assistance, arbitration, training and commercial references.
In the accomplishment of its tasks, Capturgal takes positive actions to ensure the conservation of these extraordinary islands. Since its foundation, Capturgal has been working hand in hand with the National Park of Galapagos in order to promote tourism without damaging these unique ecosystems.
But Capturgal is also dedicated for the comfort, security and well-being of the many visitors of the archipelago. In one word : dedication for quality.

“To become the leading organisation representating the tourist sector within the Province under standards of excellence and ethics, promoting a sustainable tourism and a supportive participation of its members as well as the community.”
Objectives:
Article. 5.- The Provincial Chamber of Tourism of Galapagos has established the following objectives:
1. To promote the tourism development and its general services in harmony with the need of conservation, preservation and management of the Islands.
2. To secure prosperity to its members, bringing cooperation and support for the development of its activities and the necessary services in agreement with the legal resolutions and this Bylaw.
3. To foster the cooperation and understanding among the different social classes and the tourist service providers, promoting the harmonic progress of the Province of Galapagos in every aspect.
4. To stimulate the cooperation between the private sector and the Government in benefit for the tourism activity.
5. To cooperate in the orientation of state policies and the regulations draw up in regard to the tourism activity, conservation and management of the Galapagos Islands.
6. To orient the local and international public opinion on problems that may affect the tourist activity, any other productive activities, the community and the Galapagos Islands in general, tending to the achievement of goals that may benefit them.
7. Everything else provided by the Law and further statutory standards.
